| The solution to browsing deer doesn’t have to be a fence. Rather than fence your property to prevent deer dining, a spectacular landscape can be created by choosing plants that are generally ignored by deer. |

This entrance
garden is edged with a Pittosporum hedge accompanied by two Podocarpus
trees backed on a wooden fence which is draped with passion vines. On
the left side of the picture blooms a white flowering Viburnum followed
by two purple tipped Liropetelum. Between the two tri-colored Phormium
bloom a Geranium icantum in front of a red split-leaved Japanese Maple.
This planting provides a fullness and color without appealing to the deer
who frequent this neighborhood. |
